Anticipated questions:

Where can I find this alleged podcast?

It's a real podcast!  You can find it lots of places, but probably easiest is just to go to www.goodwordspodcast.com.

So, what's that speech from Henry IV, Part I?

It comes at the end of Act I, Scene 2, and begins, "I know you all, and will a while uphold . . . "  You can find it all over the Internet, but here's one version HERE.

Um, do you really not know anyone else who can read that speech for your podcast?

Well, of course I do!  I know lots of actors who would read it beautifully.  But you know how sometimes you just get your heart set on something, and you want to see if you can make it happen, no matter how silly or foolish it might seem?

Okay, but don't you really just want a celebrity on your podcast?

Truthfully, I would be over the moon to have my (statistically) favorite actor as part of something that is so important and personal to me.  But equally truthfully, I tried for two months to do this the "right" way and get the rights to use the audio from The Hollow Crown.  (For comparison, another large media corporation let me use their audio for free with attribution, presumably because what I make is small, educational, and for kids.)  When I finally got someone to respond to my inquiries about The Hollow Crown, it became obvious that avenue was closed.  So I am attempting another route!

Why do you keep saying "statistically" your favorite actor?

I use a very complicated algorithm to calculate it, which consists of picking out all my most favorite things in the world and determining which actor appears in the greatest number of them.  (Not that you asked, but Emma Thompson is a close second.)(But seriously, don't tell Cumberbatch.)

What are you going to do if you can't get Tom Hiddleston to read the speech for your podcast?

You'll just have to "tune in" to find out what happens . . . the episode in question (about a yet-to-be-revealed theme word) will release most places on July 8.

July 8?  That's so far away!  What if I can't wait until then?

Well, GWP Partners who support the podcast on Patreon get access to every episode a week early, which in this case would be July 1.  CLICK HERE TO FIND OUT MORE ABOUT BECOMING A GWP PARTNER

When is your deadline for the audio?

The earlier I can get it, the easier things are for me . . . that said, as long as I can get it by June 29, I can make it work.

I'm Tom Hiddleston.  What do you need me to do?

Oh, wow!  Um, hi?  How was the Pinter?  (Both the play and the theatre, I guess?)  I love Betrayal, although I haven't seen it in years . . . I would have loved to have come to see it, but alas, 'twas not to be . . . anyway, that's off topic.  So:  podcast.  It might sound bonkers, but I've actually had excellent results with contributors recording themselves on a cell phone (iPhones are particularly good for this) and sending me the file.  As long as it is in a quiet, sound-absorbing environment (like a room with rugs and upholstered furniture), it works really well.  You'll need to sign THIS RELEASE (click here) (electronic signature is fine) and then you can email it with the audio file to the address on the form.
